    Train & bus
    Hurstville Museum & Gallery is located within a short easy walk from Hurstville Railway Station and Hurstville Bus Interchange. You can plan your trip using the NSW Trip Planner website.

    Hurstville Museum & Gallery is located on MacMahon Street in Hurstville. Apart from street parking, paid parking spaces can be found at the corner of Park Road and MacMahon Street. There are also dedicated accessible parking spaces located in this area. Visit our Parking webpage for more information.

    Hurstville Museum & Gallery is committed to providing access to our collections and exhibitions for all audiences. 

    All areas of the Museum & Gallery are physically accessible.  

    • Accessible toilets and a baby change space are located inside the Main Gallery space
    • Quiet times: Hurstville Museum & Gallery occasionally holds public programs and tours by request. Please contact Hurstville Museum & Gallery if you would like to check if there is a group booking on the day you are planning on visiting us. We recommend planning your visit on a weekday afternoon for quieter moments.
    • Audio descriptions: Hurstville Museum & Gallery has a selection of objects with audio descriptions in our permanent gallery, available for visitors via their own mobile device (QR codes). We also have a large print guide for every Main Gallery exhibition. Please have a chat with the staff member at the front desk for assistance if desired. 
    • Guide Dogs and Companion Dogs are welcome
    • Companion cards: General admission entry is free of charge. If you would like to book one of our programs, it is free to those who hold a Companion Card and are assisting as a carer.

  • What activities are available for kids?

    We offer a range of activities and programs for children on weekends, during school term, and in the school holidays. We also have a program for infants called Baby Explorers.

  • I have a school group, do you do education programs?

    Yes, we love having school groups visit Hurstville Museum & Gallery. We offer a wide range of excursion programs and online resources for use back in the classroom. For more information please visit our Learning page. 

  • Can I exhibit my own work in the gallery?

    Yes, our Dragon’s Lair Gallery is a dedicated space within the Hurstville Museum & Gallery for new and established Georges River artists and groups to display their works in a professional gallery space. There is also a dedicated exhibition space within the Clive James Library and Service Centre, Kogarah. These spaces are suitable for a wide range of mediums including sculptures, paintings, photographs and drawings.   • Can I donate something to the collection?

    The Museum & Gallery encourages donations of items in good condition from the community. For more information on how to donate an item, please visit our Collections page.

    Hurstville Museum & Gallery holds a collection of approximately 6,000 objects and artworks and has a permanent exhibition on display, St George Stories, which showcases the history of the local area. We can help in finding information relating to objects in our collection (which you can search on our eHive page).
